DAV PHILOSOPHY - ' A MOVEMENT IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION'
DAV Movement started in 1885 after the demise of Swami Dayanand Saraswati in 1883. The first step was to form DAV College Trust & Management Society and then establish first institution - DAV School at Lahore (now in Pakistan) on June 1, 1886 with Hans Raj Ji as honorary Headmaster.
The main objective of DAV institutions is to impart such education which is a blend of modernity with tradition to children so as to help them imbibe a sense of deep patriotism and pride in their ancient culture and civilisation, instill in them a disciplined outlook deeply dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge. DAV institutions aim at creating environment truly conducive to the development of the child mentally, physically and spritually.
 Special emphasis is laid on the development of well rounded personality based on character, initiative and courtesy. Training in leadership and sharing responsibility is an important part of the DAV School’s academic and co-curricular programme.
